Creole fiddle. Zydeco accordion. Four Grammy nominations.

From Texas by way of South Louisiana, with his ensemble Bijou Creole.

proposed: Start here — a fiddle tune that gives the accordion the second verse.

The story

Cedric Watson blends ancestral Creole melodies, driving Zydeco rhythms and original compositions into a sound that is both deeply rooted and boldly forward-looking.

Backed by Bijou Creole, he draws from a vast heritage — Creole melodies, Cajun dance tunes, Zydeco grooves — and the African, French, Spanish and Native American traditions that continue to shape Louisiana's music.

proposed: KEXP filmed him twice in one afternoon. The first session is the door in.
